Styles of Hearing Aids

Receiver-in-the-ear (RITE)

  • The most cosmetic behind-the-ear hearing aid style option!
  • The main section of this hearing aid is hidden behind your ear and connected to a molded receiver that fits snugly in the outer ear.
  • Less prone to the ‘occlusion effect’. Clients report their own voice quality is much improved from the old ‘occluding’ hearing aids.
  • Very latest automatic adaptive features to help you to hear more of what you want to hear.
  • Remote controls are available to some models of hearing aids, which help to adjust the volume and settings.
  • Some can be linked by Bluetooth to Android and Apple iPhones, TV devices and normal phones.

BTE (Behind-The-Ear)

BTE hearing aids are much smaller than they used to be!  The instruments sit behind your ear and the sound travels from the hearing aid via a tube that runs down the front of the ear and has an ear piece (mould) that goes into the ear.  The tube and earpiece can be very thin and transparent making it almost invisible.
